About T.R. Srinath
Biography
Born into a music-loving family to the late Smt. Kamala (a disciple of the late Vid. Selva Pillai Iyengar) and the late Sri T.N. Ramamurthy, Vidwan T.R. Srinath was deeply fascinated by the magical melodies of the flute wizard, the late T.R. Mahalingam. His flute recitals are marked for the sweet sound of bamboo filled with ‘Bhava’, striking an impulsive rapport with listeners and connoisseurs. He is known for his strict adherence to tradition, chaste rendering, and ‘Sahithya-oriented’ rendition with a firm grip on laya.
Vidwan T.R. Srinath is a Top Grade artist of All India Radio.
He has performed concerts in India and abroad for a period of more than 50 years.
He was initiated into flute-playing at the age of 8 years under Vid. A.V. Prakash of Mysore.
